I am a seasoned writer, editor and journalist with over a decade of experience and a lifelong passion for sailing, backcountry adventures, and international travel. My writing has appeared in a wide variety of international publications, and I have also worked as a full-time staff editor, first as Climbing Magazine’s Associate Editor (2003-2006), and then as SAIL Magazine’s Senior Editor (2006-2010). This on-staff editorial experience was invaluable in advancing my craft as a writer and editor, and—just as importantly—in honing my project-management skills.

In December of 2009, I founded Alembic Media, LLC, a boutique media firm that specializes in written communications for the Marine and Outdoor industries. An “Alembic” is a vessel that is used to “distill, clarify or make clear”—apropos when it comes to transforming complex and potentially confusing ideas into easily understood prose.

Since its formation, Alembic Media, LLC has provided a wide-variety of media-related services to a growing list of national and international clients. These services include magazine journalism, online media, marketing writing, media consultation, catalog and website copy, corporate writing, market research, event PR and copyediting. Additionally, Alembic Media’s services are available for special one-off projects that require exceptional communication and writing, strong organizational skills and an editor’s attention to detail. I place a strong emphasis on achieving superior results while always meeting deadlines and budgets, and I am comfortable managing complex and evolving projects with minimal oversight. I know from experience that there is simply no substitute for creativity, a strong work ethic and a commitment to providing every client with world-class service.

In addition to my work at Alembic Media, LLC, I currently serve as Editor-at-Large of SAIL Magazine, Technical Editor of the SAIL Buyer’s Guide, and as Editor of the international sailing website www.sail-world.com/USA.
